Dave Higgins

Vice President of Quality Assurance

Dave Higgins is Vice President of Quality Assurance for the Comcast Media Center. 

Higgins brings more than 24 years of management and construction experience in the broadcast television, satellite uplink and DBS industries to Comcast Media Center. He has led project development for The Systems Group, where his clients included Oxygen Network, QVC, Bloomberg, IBM, Morgan Stanley, Court TV, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting in Puerto Rico and WGBH-TV in Boston, among others.

With a background that encompasses studio and post production facilities construction, master control room design and integration, as well as RF and earth station installation, Higgins has designed and built facilities for USA Network, Lifetime Network, Music Choice, CNBC and MSG Network. He has also worked for IDB Teleport and has prior experience with Comcast Media Center, during the launch of the industry's first digital satellite platform.

Since joining the CMC’s senior management team, Higgins has been instrumental in launching advanced compression systems for the All Digital Simulcast effort, 60 channels of High Definition 3:1 services and over 120 channels of Switched Digital Video for Comcast distribution over its Fiber Backbone. In addition he is responsible for the Advanced Video Solutions group providing comprehensive technical support for the Motorola DAC infrastructure deployed at Comcast.  He is also responsible for launching a Video Quality program that encompasses source content acquisition, compression and encoding systems and delivery to head-ends via fiber and over satellite.
