
Patrick Burns
Vice President & General Manager of Ad Distribution
Patrick Burns is Vice President & General Manager of Ad Distribution for the Comcast Media Center (CMC). In his role, he is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and management of the CMC’s advertising distribution business, which delivers television spots to broadcast stations, cable systems and TV programming networks.
Burns, an executive with 25 years of experience in general management, product strategy, marketing, sales and forming strategic partnerships, joined the CMC’s Senior Leadership Team in July 2010. His previous senior management positions include serving as CEO and President of Mesoft, inc., where he refocused the company from engineering services to developing SaaS enterprise Media Asset Management solutions and a “white box” video platform for social networks. Prior to joining MeSoft, in 2007, Burns served as Chief Operating Officer of Kasenna, a leading provider of premier video-on-demand (VOD) content and IPTV applications for delivering video services over broadband networks. Burns served as Vice President of Pinnacle Systems from 1996 until its acquisition by Avid Technology in 2004. He also held senior management posts at Radius Inc, Chyron, the Video Cinemas unit of Macrovision, VeriFone and Ampex Corporation. Burns holds a Masters Degree in Economics from Tufts University, where he also received a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, and an M.S. in Management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
