Vice President, Sales & Marketing

Leslie E. Russell is Vice President, Sales and Marketing for the Comcast Media Center (CMC), a business unit of Comcast Cable.  In this position, she is responsible for all aspects of customer acquisition and retention for the products and services that the CMC provides to the media, telecommunications and advertising communities, including National Sales, Client Services, Marketing, Public Relations and Business Affairs. 

Russell, a 19-year telecommunications and entertainment industry veteran has been affiliated with the CMC since 1999.  She was named Senior Director of Sales and Marketing in 2000 and promoted to Vice President in 2003.  Beforehand, she served as Director of National Product Marketing for the DBS venture PRIMESTAR, which was later acquired by DirecTV.  Well versed in the marketing requirements for both cable TV systems operators and networks, her earlier industry experiences include serving as a regional product manager for Comcast Cable and holding affiliate sales and affiliate relations posts at Viewers Choice, a pay per view service that was later renamed and repositioned as iN DEMAND networks.

Russell was selected to be a member of the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute, the industry’s premiere executive training program for women, and completed her fellowship in the spring of 2006.  Recognition of her marketing leadership also includes receiving an Excellence in Marketing Award from Comcast and being selected as a CTAM Retail Marketing Case Study winner in 2004.  In addition to her involvement in CTAM at the local and regional levels, she is an Executive Member of Women in Cable and Telecommunications.  She is also a member of the Junior League of Denver.  Russell graduated cum laude from Syracuse University with a B.S. in tele-communications management and a concentration in marketing.
