Leslie E. Russell

Vice President & General Manager of HITS

Leslie E. Russell is Vice President and General Manager of HITS, a business unit within the Comcast Media Center that provides linear and non-linear video distribution and advanced services to the cable industry. She oversees product development, product management, national sales and customer support for the business unit.

Russell, a 22-year telecommunications and entertainment industry veteran has been affiliated with Comcast since 1999. She was named Senior Director Sales and Marketing in 2000, promoted to Vice President Sales and Marketing in 2003 and assumed her current role as General Manager in 2009. Prior to Comcast, she served as Director National Product Management for the DBS venture PRIMESTAR, later acquired by DirecTV. Well versed in the business requirements for both cable TV systems and content providers to generate positive OCF through video distribution, her earlier industry experience spans product management, sales and customer support for both cable operators and program networks.

Russell was selected to be a member of the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute, the industry’s premier executive training program for women and completed her fellowship in 2006. She is an executive member of Women in Cable and Telecommunications (WICT) and a board member of the WICT Rocky Mountain Chapter working on educational and mentoring programs for the chapter. She is also a member of the Cable Television Advertising and Marketing association of which she received an award for her case study in generating revenue streams for operators through retail.

Russell graduated cum laude from Syracuse University with a concentration in marketing.
